Is the Living Well Health master Blender really that much better than another powerful blender?

by admin January 26th, 2010

I have a Cuisine Art Blender that has 600 watts of power ( it really blends anything I put in it!) I am looking to start juicing but do not want to miss out on all the nutrients and fiber that is found in the skin of veggies and fruits. With juicing its con is that it discards some of the best parts, but its pro is that it is pure liquid and very easy to drink.
I did an experiment at home with my blender after watching the health master infomercial and put a whole apple (not chopped) whole orange (peeled) 1 cup of spinach, half cup of blueberries, a full banana, a cup of ice and about a cup and a half of water. My blender was able to make this whole thing up into a smoothie without a problem. It tasted pretty good and I could see myself drinking it.
My big question is, to those of you that own a Health master or Vita Mix, will the health master be able to make this drink into more of a liquid, or is my blender pretty sufficient to do the job?

The price is very high..maybe 200-dollars(USD)at the least..
A couple of months back–I bought a bag of seedless oranges..I peeled them and placed them in my 40-dollar COOKS Processor–and whipped them for a High Fiber Orange Juice Mixture..I drank that over a 2-day period..cost-about 4-dollars/..[end]

can I use a hand blender in this pot?

by admin January 26th, 2010

Hello I am wondering if I can use a hand blender: http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-CSB-76BC-SmartStick-200-Watt-Immersion/dp/B000EGA6QI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1264208056&sr=1-1

in this kind of a enameled iron cast oven: http://www.amazon.com/Creuset-Enameled-Cast-Iron-2-Quart-French/dp/B00004SBH4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1264208252&sr=1-1

or will it damage the pot?? I am thinking of blending soup right in the pot.
thanks

You can use it – no problem at all. That type of hand blender won’t harm the pot. It has two little feet on the bottom to keep the blades from doing anything to any kind of non-stick coating a pot might have. I’ve done it many times.

Can an Oscar kitchen center be serviced?

by admin January 26th, 2010

I love my kitchen center, but recently when using the blender and non liquid, it makes a terrible squilling noise at startup and when you end the mixing.
I wasn’t quite awake I meant Oster!
Can I take it a part? What should I look for as a source of the whirring sound?

I didn’t realize Oscar made anything but juicers, but I’m sure the bottom bushing in the blender can be changed at any appliance repair store. They are a less expensive brand so it may be less costly to buy another unit. Oster? There are service/warranty centers all across the US and Canada.

I Need Help picking out a blender that can make Ice Drinks?

by admin January 15th, 2010

Does anyone know if a blender that will blend Ice, Milk and fruit.

Consumer Reports is stating the Braun PowerMax MX2050 is the best buy but looking at reviews it is not a good blender.

Please read below for what I am trying to accomplish.

I am trying to make a smoothie. With 2 cups of ice 1/2 milk and some thawed cranberries.

One thing that makes me mad is the last few times I tried to make the smoothing it seemed to work ok then it progressively got harder to make them.

The blender I am using is a Hamilton Beach 12 speed.

I first blend the Cranberries and the milk then I slowly add the ice

Soon I will not see the food blending any more. I can hear the blender working but nothing is mixing.

I will dumped all ingredients in to a separate bowl. I do not see any chucks of ice so I put it back in to the blender and it will start mixing but it will get stuck again.

I did try to add all the ice at once and that did not work, I tried to add a bunch at once and that did not work. So now I am adding just a couple of pieces small ice pieces at a time and I am still having troubles.

Please help me figure out how to make these icy drinks

Sounds like the blender is "freezing" up, the more ice you add, the slower (and thicker) the smoothie becomes.

I like "Margaritaville DM1000 Frozen Concoction Maker" and you can see alot of blenders and reviews at Amazon.com

Recipes for The Rocket from Bella Kitchen?

by admin January 2nd, 2010

I got the Rocket which is like a Magic Blender, the brand is Bella Kitchen. What are some good recipes to make? I really want to know how to make chocolate mousse!

Here is the recipe for chocolate mousse for the Magic Bullet Blender:

Magic Bullet Blender Recipes – Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients

1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbs. chocolate syrup
Preparation

First … Add the ingredients to the Short Cup and blend until smooth.
Then… serve.
Serving Suggestion

Using the Flat Blade, grind a few chocolate chips up in the Short Cup. Twist on a Shaker/Steamer Top and sprinkle a little on the top of your chocolate mousse. You can also whip some cream and add a dollop to the top of each serving of chocolate mousse.
