Like if u say cosmetics, please say the brand too.

I was thinking about a wardrobe of clothes from Puma, Limited Too, Roxy, Hollister, Abercrombie, Wet Seal, Forever 21, Aeropostale, ect.
A Coffee Maker. (cappucinno, ect.) (starbucks)
Popcorn, chips, ect. Vita-Mix. (a blender) And a fridge full of juice, soda, fruits/veges, desserts. A pink vanity full of cosmetics. (what brand???) (perfume, ect.) Soft, fluffy, pink rugs. 3-5 Foot Spas. Flat Screen TV. (what type)

MAC cosmetics is a great brand, used by many makeup artists. I'd have fluffy couches with lots of cute throw pillows, chic-flick movies galore, internet access, spa area with mani/pedi supplies, face scrubs and cleansers, plenty of clean towels, a hot tub, a tanning bed, etc. Is this a business idea of yours or are you just re-decorating your room?

what machine/tool/process could best achieve this job?

i want to ground up a dozen bags full of various chinese herbs and plant matter into a fairly fine powder. Obviously I don't want to take all week doing it in a cuisinart or small blender. I've looked into leaf shredders but think it might not be fine enough. Though I don't want to spend a thousand dollars on something. Ideal would be some addaptation I couldmake to a power tool or some common gardening tool, something I could rent.

Use a restuarant sized kitchen liquidiser.

Has anyone used the VitaMix? Is it really better than a good blender?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

My husband & I have been ovo-lacto vegetarians for a while now (a little over a year) and I would like to go vegan. I have been getting brochures from Vita-Mix and I'm having a really hard time justifying spending $500 on what seems to be a blender. I have a good blender that makes smoothies well. The Vita-Mix says that it breaks down the cells. Is this really possible? And how can it make both Hot soup and Frozen treats? I'd like to hear about anyones experience with the Vita-Mix…good or bad.

The vitamix is great. It grinds small items like sesame seeds into tahini and can puree your sock if you like. I have a lesser quality blender, and really wish I would have splurged. BTW- check out all vendors online, including discountjuicers.com and see if you can get it cheaper. Costco at times also has the vitamix for much less than 500 dollars.

Magic Bullet Food Processor…?

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

My son eats pureed foods and I've tried the Cuisinart Mini Food Prep Prossesor…. BOOOO!!! It smelled like the motor was going to burn up… And it wasn't even working that hard! And it left big chuncks of food. I'm using a blender now… and it's such a pain to get all of the food out from around and under the blades! It takes so long just to blend up his foods. I was wondering if the Magic Bullet would be good for the use I need it for? Or maybe a different food processor? I was thinking of saving up some money and buying one of the good ones… Like the $150-200 ones… I'm just tired of dealing with the blender…

I have one that I was given as a gift, and I have to say that I was surprised at how sturdy the gadget actually is….. I love to use it! Of course the more money you spend the more machine you get….but for the money it is a very good option.

How healthy does this modified juice diet sound?

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I'm think of preparing a lot of this juice in the morning in my vita mix blender:
oranges
apples
lettace
carrots
olive oil
aloe vera juice
tomatoes
I plan on sipping this throughout the day every two hours, up to dinnertime. Then I will have 4 oz. of lean meat with some steamed veggies.
How does this sound to you? I'm looking for something to cleanse my system and possibly drop a couple of pounds, but actually be able to keep them off. I'm thinking of trying this for just a few days.
What are other healthy ways to cleanse?
(I'm new to the idea of fasting and cleansing)

I think it is nutritionally OK and in line with your stated goals… BUT, the blend sounds pretty scary taste-wise. I did something similar awhile back and lost quickly. How many calories in 24 hrs? I would use fresh cold-pressed flax seed oil instead of olive oil probably…(I dropped my cholesterol like crazy using it "400's to 150"). Don't use the capsules of flax seed oil…has to be the fresh/refridgerated or it won't work. Can only find it at a health food store.

Look at the Myoplex Lite "ready to drink" by EAS …it is high quality protein… 190 cal. in 11 fl oz. (only one gram of sugar and 25 g of protein. It is super-low in fat and has vitamins and minerals added. It is a great way to get protein on the go. It doesn't have to be kept cold (if not opened)… just best that way for enjoying. You can buy it at the grocery store.

Good Luck! That is my best answer!
