Kitchen Blenders

If you were to make a new blender/pepper-grinder/kitchen appliance what would be acceptable materials?

Or, where would I find this information?

I have tried searching www.fda.gov to no avail, yahoo and google don’t give me anything specific.

The reason I am asking, is we need to "cite" some sources, and an official FDA or regulatory requirement would help

You probably want to do your research at http://nsf.org/ not the FDA. NSF is the non-profit organization that certifies food handling products.
