remodeling kitchen what colors should i use…with red.?

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

hello i am remodeling my cottage type home and i recently purchased red kitchen appliances blender, toaster oven, etc just wondering what color would look good with this i want a cottage/country feel thanks.

I’m NOT an interior designer, but I painted my kitchen yellow and used red and royal blue things to decorate. The curtains are a country check, as is the table cloth on the kitchen table. On the table there is a blue pitcher filled with (fake) yellow flowers. My picture frames are blue with red mat board and I used old 1930s magazine ads and reproductions of old posters (like the one reminding children to eat corn mush and save the wheat for the soldiers in WWI) and advertising tins with the right colors. My niece painted her miniscule kitchen royal blue, with sparkling white cabinets and cupboards and small touches of red and yellow and it looked great! Her main color was white but then her authentic old kitchen was so tiny you couldn’t open the oven door if someone was washing dishes "across the room".

i donated alot of kitchen supplies and my cooking school stuff i paid over 2000 how much can i write off?

blenders 200 catering bowles 200 platters 300 utensils pots and pans cookie sheets 40 mixing bowles etc

Go to the IRS website and look around until you find donations. There will be a guide in there that you can refer to.
You’d be surprised how much you are allowed for things.

Could you please let me know all the contact details of Sumeet kitchen applicance outlets in Western Europe?

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

I am looking for a Summeet all purpose mixer-grinder-blender-crusher-chopper (Indian) in West Europe? Are there any sales outlets in this part of the globe? If so, please give all the contact details inclusive of email-website-t’phone, etc.
Thank you

I think you might get a quicker answer to this question if you ask in the Indian section. How are we to know unless we use Indian products?

Need advice for kitchen gadgets i.e. blender, juicer ?

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

I am a little confused as to what gadget does what. Basically I want to know if a Smoothie Maker is like a blender, or just for making smoothies only? Also I am after a Juicer – do any of these contraptions double up i.e. smoothie maker/juicer/blender!!! Can anyone recommend some good tried and tested machines please, many thanks
Yes I am in the UK

I don’t know if they sell it in the UK, but there is a product out there called the "Magic Bullet."

It is amazing, and it comes with attachments that make it usable as a juicer, blender, AND smoothie maker.

Otherwise, go for a blender over a smoothie maker. They have more versatility and can be used for smoothies as well :)

What does the term "cut in" mean in the kitchen?

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

I have a class called FACE (Family And Consumer Education) and i got a project i have to do and it asks what the term cut in means in the kitchen. I have to have a live presentation with a mixing bow, fork, and a pastry blender. So what does "cut in"?

It’s the method used to incorporate butter (or other solid fat) into dry ingredients, using the pastry blender. Generally you cut through the butter repeatedly until the mixture looks like cornmeal.
