Kitchen Blenders

Am looking to buy a super blender like the vita mix but was hoping I could find one that isn’t $500, anybody have any suggestions?

Do you know of any cheaper brands? I’m looking for a blender that blends vegetables as well. What is the best commercial blender?

i want to get my mom an immersion blender for her birthday, and the Cuisinart SmartStick Immersion Blender looks nice. Yet it seems so much cheaper than the other blenders…does this one have good quality? i’m not looking for a top model, but not a crap cheapo one either…

basically, does anyone have any good durable immersion blenders i can look at? thanks!

When you begin looking for new kitchen appliances (mixers, blenders, juicers, etc) where do you do your research? What makes that source reliable/trustworthy?

I go to consumer Reports first. They tell you about features you may like and give ratings on the best and worst. I have found their ratings accurate and their information helpful. The only problem is when companies change models too fast Consumer reports needs time to evaluate the product before they will give a rating.
