The Today show featured a pricy Blendtec at $399. Consumer Reports highly rates the Braun MX2050 PowerMax Jug Blender at $50.00.
Well, it depends on what you want to use if for, if it is just going to be general use then definitely the Braun but if u r gonna be using it for heavy duty stuff and quite often then the Blendtec.

Well depends for what you are using the blender and how much use it is going to get. Oster and Hamilton Beach make good inexpensive blenders and most stores carry the parts that are likely to need replacing jars, lids, blades, etc. KitchenAid, Braun, and other make more powerful units but their replacement parts are expensive. Blendtech makes a great blender, but do you need that much power and will you use it a lot to get the most out of your investment?

Oster is the best. I have had mine for 8 years with no problems, and I use it quite heavily.

i would go with a cuisinart, personally…anything with glass is preferred -it won't stain like plastic…or you could go with a cheap hamiliton beach one…i have gone through them making smoothies..depends on if you are going to use it alot…

Even those expensive ones break quite easily. I like the Oster brand. Cheap, crushes ice well, and if it breaks I'm only out $25 or less.
I had a professional blender that I paid over $250 for and it broke in a few months. The cheaper ones lasted longer.
