Kitchen Blenders

The Today show featured a pricy Blendtec at $399. Consumer Reports highly rates the Braun MX2050 PowerMax Jug Blender at $50.00.

Well, it depends on what you want to use if for, if it is just going to be general use then definitely the Braun but if u r gonna be using it for heavy duty stuff and quite often then the Blendtec.

braun hand blender mentons 300w. it has a chopper with detachable blade i had lost that so am unable to use the chopping

Check any local household appliance distributor or repair shop – they should be able to fix it.

There is nothing sophisticated about these blades, anybody should be able to fix it. If you had a sample blade or a picture, a machine shop could probably even make a new one at a minimal cost, if you have good contacts.

i've always made my green smoothies in a regular blender but now i' going away to college and cant take a big blender with me….i have a hand blender and was wondering if i can make a green smoothie using that …i have a braun hand blender just like this one http://z.about.com/d/coffeetea/1/0/t/7/braun_hand.jpg
my fruit are always apples or pineapples and i use spinach mostly …

The pineapple might be tough for the hand blender to chew up, but may work. I've made lots of smoothies with a hand blender, and I usually use berries – not pineapple or apples. The power level and quality of the hand blender will be important here.

On a 5 speed blender which speed is puree? I have a brAun blender. Thanks

Puree is probably the highest setting, or 5 on yours.
