hello i am remodeling my cottage type home and i recently purchased red kitchen appliances blender, toaster oven, etc just wondering what color would look good with this i want a cottage/country feel thanks.
I’m NOT an interior designer, but I painted my kitchen yellow and used red and royal blue things to decorate. The curtains are a country check, as is the table cloth on the kitchen table. On the table there is a blue pitcher filled with (fake) yellow flowers. My picture frames are blue with red mat board and I used old 1930s magazine ads and reproductions of old posters (like the one reminding children to eat corn mush and save the wheat for the soldiers in WWI) and advertising tins with the right colors. My niece painted her miniscule kitchen royal blue, with sparkling white cabinets and cupboards and small touches of red and yellow and it looked great! Her main color was white but then her authentic old kitchen was so tiny you couldn’t open the oven door if someone was washing dishes "across the room".

Well red is not a cottage color. Typically cooler colors are used in cottage design. Cream, light yellow, pink, light blue, pale peach, light plum, white, egg shell. If you were going for contemporary you can use gray, black, white, stainless steel. If you want the cottage feel return the appliances and get another color.

A neutral like the color of pine, white, or a darker red.

Red appliances — what fun! I suggest white cabinets with black countertops. Most of the country kitchens I’ve designed in the last four years use this combination, but it always looks crisp and fresh. Medium or dark brown wood floors look great with this combination, as well. Pale yellow or even pale blue walls could work with this combination.
